Workplace Equality Fund

Impact Funding Partners manage this fund on behalf of the Scottish Government. All funds have been allocated.

The Workplace Equality Fund (WEF), worth £750,000, has funded 22 projects (a mix of private sector companies and third sector organisations working with private sector companies). The fund supports private businesses to reduce employment inequalities, discrimination and barriers in the workplace. 

Funded projects are engaged in work which helps in reducing employment inequalities, discrimination and barriers particularly across the arts, culture, leisure, tourism, finance, manufacturing, construction, transport and communication and STEM sectors. 

The fund targets four participant groups:

  • Minority ethnic people
  • Women
  • Disabled people
  • Older workers (those aged over 50 yrs)

Funded projects had to meet a minimum of one of the following outcomes:

  • Employment opportunities and progression in the workplace are improved for participant groups and consideration is given to how this can be embedded into the workplace to ensure lasting change
  • Knowledge, skills, policies and practices are improved in order to address employment inequalities, discrimination and barriers/challenges within the workplace 
  • A more inclusive working environment is created through employees and employers working in partnership
