Glasgow Children's Food Programme

Impact Funding Partners have assessed all applications and have passed their recommendations to Glasgow City Council. The Council will be in touch directly with applicants regarding their final decisions.  The timescale for this has not been confirmed however all parties are aware that the first holiday starts on 1st April.

The Glasgow Children's Holiday Food Programme (GCHFP), enables community organisations in Glasgow to provide nutritious food and activities for children during the school holidays. This fund is now closed for applications.

This fund will support children during the Spring, Summer, October and February school holidays for 2019 - 20. The fund is for children of nursery or school age (0-18 years). It is open to third sector/not for profit organisations operating in the Glasgow City Council Local Authority who can show that their project will support children and young people with their well-being and to have a healthier relationship with food

The minimum grant amount is £500 and applicants can apply for a grant to cover as many of the four holidays as they wish.

Funded projects must:

  • Provide nutritional meals for children during the school holiday;
  • Provide meals in a non-stigmatising way, benefiting the health of the children;
  • Provide activities that will appeal to children, encouraging them to attend and receive a healthy, nutritional meal.

Useful background information read the Summer 2018 monitoring and evaluation report.

Impact Funding Partners (formerly the Voluntary Action Fund) are managing this fund on behalf of the Glasgow City Council, until 31st March 2019.
