Democracy Matters

The Scottish Government ‘Democracy Matters Community Engagement Fund’ provided grants of up to £300 to small voluntary organisations and community groups in Scotland to help them run an event or engagement activity with a group of five or more people to discuss what matters to them in relation to democracy.

This was part of the ‘Scottish Government Democracy Matters Conversation: Your Community, Your Ideas, Your Future’.

Impact Funding Partners, then Voluntary Action Fund, assessed applications and made funding recommendations with each successfully funded project submitting their own report to Scottish Government.

89 engagement projects took place across Scotland with over 4,000 people taking part in the national conversation.
